Very often, when people come to visit us in Idaho in the summer (if they are from other places) they can not believe how long the sun stays out……smack dab in the middle of summer…we still have light at 10pm…..and even 10:30 pm….this makes for lots of hours to do lots of work and lots of play…..many a night we have been rolling out of the lake somewhere around 11pm….with the air still warm from the sun. Tonight it was all about working outside to squeeze every last bit of daylight into our day………..so much had to be done today..not just for camp…but for the property in general……part of the land is a hay field…and today Marq turned the freshly mowed hay so it could be dried out and put into bails. When it was all done….it was a beautiful sight…especially with the sunset in the background…..
Inside the ranch house….just as much is going on…..today we unpacked all of our decorations that we usually take up to Brave Girl Camp with us in McCall…there are boxes and boxes and boxes of them………now we have to decide which ones to use for our new ranch camps…..the ranch house is surrounded with windows so there’s not a lot of space for decorations…….but we will get this place all brave-ified this weekend with just the right touches of happy color and sparkling light……..for now….2 rooms are filled with decorations to choose from….
AND…….my new pillows are here!!!! They are made by Demdaco and you will be able to buy them in the Brave Girl Shoppe very soon…..I love that every product has a tag with the story of Brave Girls Club on it….here’s 2 of my favorite pillows that sit on my couch in my living room.
I love working with Demdaco!!! These pillows make me very happy and are perfect additions to camp!!!
And everyone knows how much I love lights…twinkly lights….patio string lights…..any kind of lights on a string and you’ve got my heart…..we have thousands of lights strung all over the place…..I can give you a few peeks….but the most magical ones of all I can’t show til after camp………..that is gonna be ONE LOOOONG blog post because there is so much to show that we just can’t show yet…….I just can’t wait for the guests to see!!! And for you all to see!!
And then we are back outside again……hiding soul messages everywhere….everywhere…everywhere……words are so healing…this place is so healing….
and then back inside with the family. Life is so good. so so so so soooo good. Not too many years ago we wondered if life would ever even be bearable again…if we would ever laugh again or if we would ever love life again………….just hope you will all stick with it….things always turn around somehow……..joy is worth fighting for. Family is worth fighting for. Your dreams are worth fighting for….YOU are worth fighting for. Keep working toward creating the beautiful life your heart yearns for……..I know from experience that it is worth it…no matter how impossible it seems.
Sending you all so very much love.

Brave-ified! I <3 each and everyone of you…the love that is shared and the souls that are healed is beyond description — words do not suffice … God's presence is everywhere at Brave River Ranch! Wow! It is indeed "a life uncommon"! Love love love…love-ified!
Wow, the beauty and serenity in those pics make me yearn for the country! I do live n a rural town but want ACERAGE!! The fresh cut hay, the trickling streams….ahhhhhh someday maybe! My life too was turned upside down 14 years ago when my son was in a terrible bike/car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury….he still has some repercussions from his accident but they are very minimal compared to what they could be! Life is good! I try to make my “liitle” corner of town beautiful and peaceful but yearn for the “country life”!! Enjoy the photos and post so much! Thanks for sharing!
Can’t wait!
Oh my goodness. *tears* Beautiful. The entire thing. Each and every one of you. Beautiful.
Fighting the fight…..
BEAUTIFUL!!! LOVE!!!! LOVE the pillows!!!! What an awesome magical job you are doing!!!! xoxoxxoox
I’m bringing my suit. Can I swim at 11:00 p.m.? Dear me I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for all you are doing in preparation.

Oh Idaho, the home of my heart! I LOVE it! I have been up in your area many times in the past and have always loved it so much! The summers there are MAGNIFICENT and I miss it every year and long to be there, playing in the river, looking at those beautiful foothills from the burbs of Boise and trekking up to McCall for lunch and, as you said, staying out until midnight and its still 75 outside! I think I started reading your blog, many moons ago, because of that very connection, and the heart you displayed even then. I cheer for you, I have cried with you and I think the work you are doing, the work of restoring souls through the quiet words of the Lord, is awesome.
Blessings on you Melody and team, YOU ROCK!!!
I got all teary just seeing the smile on your beautiful face! I can’t wait to see, smell, touch and experience your new home in just 4 short days (smile). Sending you love from Alberta where the sun also stays up FOREVER in the summer…
Melody….I want you to know how absolutely beautiful you look in the photo of you in this post. Sans makeup?? or very minimal?? You are such a natural beauty…and you glow with happiness and love…
just an encouragement…
Much love,
Frankie
breathtaking…. <3
Melody, Kathy, Folks hi,
Gorgeous job decorating and setting up for Brave Girl Camp.. Me, I love words and quotes and reminders like the “you are so loved above” one above.
I love the big lettered signs Melody makes and was wondering if an A la carte’ for these signs would of interest to anyone else
