Ok….so here we go….Tuesday night we are having a big party. It’s a party where you can come for free…..and make art…with all of the supplies and all of the ideas ready for you…..we are having it at THE COOLEST PLACE. We are hosting it, along with our friends from Rembrandt’s Coffee House for Jess Green….and Jess Greene is a true Brave Girl….you just gotta read the story right here about what she is doing and why you need to come to the party….TUESDAY NIGHT at REMBRANDT’S in EAGLE IDAHO (c’mon…if you don’t live here, it’s worth the drive…) If you want to have dinner…….there’s a specially priced dinner starting at 6 and going all night….it’s $6.95 for adults and $4.95 for kids……or just come and make art with us!!! (there’s also all sorts of other amazing food and drinks)
Ok…so the party/get together/gathering/event is called JUMPSTART CREATIVITY EVENT……….(that’s Jess down there holding the sign…you are gonna have to come to the event to meet her in person)
This is a perfect little combination of amazing people…because the party we are having is at the coffee shop of our friends who started Full Circle Exchange….Mark and Jeanette Priddy…they also own Rembrandt’s and do a lot of really amazing stuff all over the world that they are too humble to let me tell you about….they are dear dear dear friends and I can’t wait to tell you their whole story…(if you want to know some of it now….read HERE) Here’s Mark in Africa, learning to weave one of the baskets that they sell for the women of Africa….
And here’s where we are having the party…..at Rembrandt’s…the most amazing coffee house/bakery/salad/sandwich/happiness establishment you have ever been to…it’s a renovated church…filled with an eclectic mix of the most amazing vintage furniture….original art all over the walls…and beautiful things to buy in their shop…and yummy smells and happy laughs and friendly chatter and just plain old goodness all over the place…it is ALWAYS packed with people….AND….they import their own coffee and chocolate (read about that HERE if ya wanna know more)
Last week we had the Priddy’s over for dinner…….my kids made dinner for all of us…..they have 6 children and we have 5 children…so it was a pretty wild night…here’s my son Brock and his fiance, Sabrina making dinner for all of us….
We had some great conversations about all of the amazing things that are going on with them and the work they are doing to help women in Africa and many other countries, and we can’t wait to tell you how Brave Girls Club is going to be a part of that in a big way (remember back when we were going to have a press conference….and the press conference was premature…well that’s what the press conference was gonna be about and what it will be about as soon as it’s time) anyway….so much awesomeness….say hi to Drake and Margaret who are our dear friends who were also in town visiting……we all had such a great time….
then we went out to the art barn with all of our kids and we made art…and we made art..and we made art….we mostly made leather bracelets…but we made art and we looked at art and we talked about art…and everyone had a blast getting super creative…..
this is Mark and Jeanette getting super excited over Brock’s longboard that he made and painted by hand….
and this is all of us working on leather……..
and then I showed them how to finish it and stain it…we just had THE BEST NIGHT….
so……come ON TUESDAY NIGHT to make are with us at Rembrandt’s coffee house…………and then………………..they are even gonna open up their beautiful new shop across the street for extra hours so you can come and shop….
and see beautiful things that women artists from all over the world have made…things that will help their families and villages to survive and take care of themselves and to THRIVE!!! Everything from the store is made by a brave girl from somewhere in the world…….this beautiful necklace is made by women in Ethiopia …melted down bullet casings into fabulous chunky necklace. We don’t have many of them so u better be first in line.
Empowering women who are HIV positive and now have a renewed sense of dignity and hope. They are amazing artists.
here’s another necklace you will find…
the Infinity necklace – a stunning combination of prints, natural fibers and paper beads. Hand crafted in Rwanda by women artisans, each necklace provides employment for weavers, paper bead makers, and seamstresses. Straps may be tied to adjust to any length. Every purchase helps to empower women artisans in Rwanda to rise out of poverty.
and here’s the beautiful new store…….so much more to come about Full Circle Exchange and the amazing Priddy’s…..very big and wonderful things are happening that we want you all to be a part of…but for now…
COME TO THE PARTY ON TUESDAY NIGHT!!!!
ART….FOOD…..SHOPPING….AWESOME PEOPLE……what could be better?
We will be there to party with you!!!
Come and support Jess and her big adventure and come and support the Priddy’s and their big adventure and come and support amazing women from all over the world…..mostly, just come and have fun with us….let’s make some memories!!

xoxo – melody and brave girl team
p.s. here’s a little blurb from the invitation…
An opportunity to make something. Choose between: a mixed media booklet, creative writing, or mail art. it’s going to be so much fun! come!!!

I don’t know exactly why, but the necklace made from bullet casings brought tears to my eyes. Something positive and beautiful from something ugly and pain-filled. Wish we weren’t a lot of states away or I would be there. Thank you for the post. Thank you for everything. I simply cannot wait til October….
I, too, am several states away… :/ But I will try to make art at home tonight anyway.
What a fabulous story, what great folks, what a grand time!! I hope I can make it. I would love to share in this energy and to create!!
Oh. This is wonderful!! I love what Jess is doing with the amazing Jumpstart Creativity Tour! (I was delighted to make a donation to this wonderful mission a few weeks ago and today… knowing that YoYOURloving energy and HER loving energy are meeting up tonight in this beautiful spot just makes my heart happy). And.. I am REALLY excited because (even though I live on Cape Cod and can’t go tonight…) my dear friend Catie lives nearby and CAN go!! (I’ll be with her in spirit Melody and Kathy and Jess) 0:~) with Love From Cape Cod…. xoxo Sandi

i am promoting it on my blog here: http://five-ten-fifteen.blogspot.com/2012/07/at-rembrandts-coffee-house-tonight.html
see you there! ♥
A few of us went to Rembrandts after brave girls, and spent a few hours there hanging out, eating, and chatting since our flights were late in the day… Loved it there! I would so be there tonight if I were closer to you! How wonderful that your families spent time doing art together after dinner…what a great way to hang out!! Love you all, Natalie
I knew when I set foot in the Priddy’s store it was a special place. A place of hope and renewal, a place of bravery and of the future. I had the pleasure of meeting the Priddy family including the lovely Mariah Priddy when I was in Eagle, Idaho. I wish I could jump on my private jet and come to the art party. Alas, I do not own a private jet. I know I will be back…..
xoxo

Fiancee??!! I didn’t know.
Congratulations! Daughter-in-laws are awesome.
I would have loved to go to that event. I found the website a while ago and, unfortunately, it;s not coming anywhere close to me.
I’m glad it all turned out so well.
Melody! What a life of inspiration and beauty you have created……I adore this post. Please give Jess a hug for me and tell her that we need to team up and create Jumpstart Creativity Downunder! Also have her tell you about my book project. I would love for you to share the Priddys story in it….message me your email on FB and I will let you know more…much love Tracy xx
THIS is LOVE
Oh my Gosh! I am so sad I missed this – I totally would have driven over from Seattle!
Sounds like fun.
I had the joy of meeting Jess last week at Encaustic Camp in Salem, OR. I’m new to Brave Girls…so fun to see Jess mentioned here and see another connection with kindred souls!
Love to be there – will be a silent visitor in my thoughts – too far to come from Port Lincoln South Australia. Have a great night!!
