Everyday is hard for me. I feel brave when I get up in the morning, put my shoulders back, hold my head up high, and do all the small things that added up, make something big. When I lay my head on my pillow at night, utterly spent…knowing in my heart that “I did it anyway”.
Rebecca – please email Kallie – kallie@bravegirlsclub.com with your email address so we can send your print!!
Thanks to everyone who participated!!!! xoxox

Remembering the words of Christopher Robin: “You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
Knowing that I am not alone. That God is watching over me and when I listen, he will guide me in the right direction!
Oh this is my FAVOURITE one! I have a boot/shoe theme going in my recovery and have had proverbial ‘brave girl boots’…then I found this painting.
What makes me feel brave?
…staying clean & sober for one more day, looking at the growing evidence pile that I can accomplish pretty cool things.
Not feeling very brave right now. What is keeping me going… as I watch my beloved husband’s health and mental state fail more with each passing day, is that God MUST be here in all of this. That I am not alone (even though I am feeling so alone…so often these days, as I struggle to be there for him in so many ways as he needs me more and more and more…. Prayer… and ‘talking to God’ are getting me through each day….xoxox
Supportive friends make me feel brave. They are there no matter what happens.
Remembering that we are all dealing with something helps me feel brave. Because everyone, no matter how successful and put together they might look on the outside is dealing with something on the inside.
What makes me feel brave?
Knowing every day is a new day and I still have many more things to learn about myself, life and the world around me. Knowing that at 42 I’m still young enough to conquer new and old dreams. I’m driven by the fact that I know there’s something more out there for me, I’ve been on so many paths looking for “me” and I’ve learned so much a long my journey, I’ve been side tracked and jumped the tracks, but I eventually circle back around and try my life course path once again to see who the “me” is and what “me” is really about and all that “me” can do!
P.S. Too bad I could attach a photo to this, because I DO HAVE ON my “brave girl boots” today. (Jean Fridays at work) and they do look very similar to the pic, well of course, without the winds. But I must say, when I have my boots on, I have a different, bolder kind of step going on!!!
Cheers!! Happy Friday!!
A pep talk from a girlfriend always helps when I’m feeling cowardly. That and a little black dress.
I feel braver after a heart to heart talk with one of my girlfriends. Being “seen” by someone that loves you is such a gift, and inspires me to be me and go for it!
I feel brave when I see my children smile and laugh after they experience something I was nervous about and I did not interfere with them doing it!
A smile:)…..helps to make me feel brave,,,,So I also try to help some one else feel brave too…I think a SMILE helps me through just about everything…
My family and friends make me feel brave, as well as music. If I’m feeling scared or down, a good song can always put a smile on my face!
What makes me feel Brave are a couple things. My mother, who raised 6 children by herself (my father left us when we were 16 through 1 year old) in the 60′s through the early 80′s. I have no idea how she fed us, kept a roof over our heads worked a full time grueling job as a waitress, and never thought of asking for any help or splitting us up.
What else makes me Brave is living through and escaping a torturous life in my 20′s, hating myself in my 30′s, still found it impossible to forgive myself in my 40′s and now here in my early 50′s I’m going to try again. I’m going to try for the life I was meant to live, (can’t wait for Brave Girls Camp).
I feel brave when I eventually pluck myself up after crying over how hard life is for me.
Can you please remove my last name from the comment I made @ 11:19 am on August 3. I guess I’m not brave enough to have it publicly posted.
Courage is my one little word this year, and I feel have when I look back at what I’ve done since January.
My feel brave moments are ususally a big reminder to myself of what Ive been through and made it to the happy side again. I love the brave girl boots because nothing helps like being comfortable in your skin and for a “fluffy girl” like me jeans, tee shirt and big girl boots is where its at baby!!!
Inspiration gives me courage, keeps me going, makes all of life’s challenges truly worth it. Inspiration really is the heartbeat of a powerful and creative life. Without it, I merely survive…but I want to THRIVE! Inspiration (that one idea that grows into something special) comes to me, often times, when I need it the most, inching me towards hope.
When I do something I’m afraid to do- or nervous about..and do it anyway and have faith and hope~ Then I feel BRAVE. I like that feeling!
What makes me feel brave … inviting that internal critic to take a rest (picture a cup of tea in a comfy chair in the corner) so I can get on with what I really am wanting to do and/or thinking of how what I’m doing it also serving someone/something besides me.
I feel brave when I know that someone is supporting me if I should fall down.
I feel brave by responding to my heart and God’s call by going back to school to follow my passion even though it won’t be smooth and easy!
Remembering I am a survivor!!
What drives me is My Dream to passionately inspire and guide women of all ages to listen to the whispers (and sometimes not so quietly) “What Is Calling You?” Telling me what keeps them awake at night…grinding your teeth, clenching your fists, or that knotted feeling in your stomach knowing that you aren’t doing what you came to this earth to do!
I have to be brave staying on track and focus following my own path of “What Is Calling Me!” so that I can guide any woman who is searching what is in heWe each have the courage within to go beyond our fears, and become our dreams.
Living Passionately,
AriZona

GOD”S GRACE ALLOWS ME TO FEEL BRAVE
I feel brave knowing that I am a survivor.
Thank you so much for the chance to win!
I feel brave when I am making a decision and I really stop to listen to my truth teller for the right answer – rather than basing my decisions on what others will think of it or what others want. When I make truth filled choices I feel brave in supporting myself!
The word of God helps me to be brave. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
When facing challenges I say “Jesus, I trust in you.”
trying something new – whether I do well at it or not I feel like a brave girl for trying!
I am Brave because I choose to go where the peace is on a daily basis. Thank You for helping find my true~brave self.
Loving my weak and strong self makes me brave!
If I could go anywhere that I wanted right now, I would go to the future, just for a quick visit and then would come back.
Some days I just have to gather up the strength to “act as if” and write a gratitude list. You can’t be grateful and in fear at the same time. Being in gratitude makes me brave.
This took some time to figure out. So, thanks for making me think.
I feel brave when I stand up for my children or any child. That must be the mother instinct that takes over and there is no hesitation, fear or remorse in what I do.
If I could go anywhere right now I would travel to the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
I would want to assist with humanitarian efforts there. Help people in need feel
there is hope for a better future.
If I could go anywhere in the world right now, I’d go to Spokane to spend some time with my mom. I live in Maine, and can’t get out to see her as much as I’d like. Talking on the phone is good some days, others.. well, her mind is not what it once was. So I’d rather spend time WITH her.
If I could go anywhere in the world right now it would be to heaven to sit on Jesus’ knee and have him wipe away my tears and tell me that the pain won’t last forever.
If I could go anywhere today it would be to go to New York City – I’d love to spend a day shopping and getting all dressed up to attend some fabulous Broadway plays .. of course I’d need a few dollars too but a girl can dream right
Thanks a bunch !! Happy Friday,
Val Turnbow
Hmmm… there are a lot of places I’d like to go, but for now I would stay right where I am at my daughter and son-in-law’s house helping to take care of our 3 year old grandson and 5 day old granddaughter.
Thank you for this opportunity!
If I could go anywhere today it would be to Tibet. I would love to see spinning prayer wheels and prayer flags waving in the wind. What inspiration!
My walk with God makes me BRAVE!!!!! Throughout my life I have witnessed that he is in full control of my life. He puts the right people in your life at the right time..but it is his timing! I thank him for leading me to “Brave Girls” and all that “Brave Girls” offers!!! Love all of you and what you have meant to me on this journey!!!!
If I could go anywhere in the world right now, I would “go out on a limb” and invite a few of my dear friends (whom I haven’t seen in a while) to spend a couple of days together in my home just playing, sharing and creating. Like a big pajama party.
if i could anywhere in the world.. it would be a small cabin in the mountains to regroup.. recently i left my corporate job of 8 years due to the stress and now am trying to figure out the direction of my future. knowing i deserved better is what gave me the strength to make this huge change. but know i need to be brave and fight for the life i really want.
thanks for the chance to win..
My past makes me brave! Having learned the hard way to learn from yesterday, dream for tomorrow all the while and most importantly LIVE FOR TODAY!
OMG! I sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo need this Melody! More than EVER and more than you know!
xoxoxo
Reading the Brave Girls letters helps me feel brave and helps me think from the perspective of what the truth is so that I can walk out and through the day. Thank you!!
I would go to India. I just finished reading Slum Dogs no more, and I would help the children in the centers that are being created to help them realized they are worth something. I had forgotten about the caste system in India until I read this book. There is hope for these children in these centers. Diane
I just finished reading the book Slum Dog No More, so I would go to India and help the children in the centers that are being created to help these children realize that they are worth something. I had forgotten about the caste system in India. The children are being educated and fed a decent meal and this is helping the entire family have hope for a better life.

I would go to St. John in the USVI to visit my daughter. She’s been there for two months and it’s the longest we have ever gone without seeing each other.
I would go to an peaceful island where I can hear God’s voice loud and clear and free of distractions. I really need some soul restoration. I am hurting and I don’t know how to get past it.
