I SO identify with this sentiment…my life story is more than I can share here, but when my husband died at 30 years old (I was 29), I had no job (was a full-time mom), no marketable skills, no life insurance from him, and four children to support. Boy oh boy, did I ever have to put my brave girl boots on then. I never went on welfare or food stamps…I put one (brave girl) foot in front of the other and got busy. I got a job as a cashier, enrolled in college, and for the next several years wore just about every hat imagineable. I made it through because I chose to see life as positive, and didn’t let the challenges take me down. In the process, I think I set a great example for my children (now grown with children of their own). By the way, thank you so much for your daily words….you have no idea how you have touched my life.
When I am doing something for one of my children that requires me to be “brave” as a model for them..I always get a boost of energy and clarity. It seems that my best self arises in service to them. My love for them makes me shine.
I wear my Brave Girl Boots, Brave Girl Flip Flops, or Brave Girl Shoes everyday. After having 4 bouts of Cancer and beating the odds everytime….Everyone around me asks how do you always keep such a positive attitude? ONE WORD “FAITH”, My Faith makes me BRAVE, HAPPY, AND SO LOOKING FORWARD TO EVERYDAY. I discovered Art is so healing and the Art Community has so embraced Life, Support, and the energy and Love to help us all conquer our Hiccups in Life.
My first venture in this Art World was at Art Camp with Terry Brush, and I know I will finally be Blessed to meet you in Fall Camp. The Camp gave me the Support, and Love that I needed to keep going and venturing into many forms of Art. I hope to be blessed with your camp next year.
Living a Blessed Life….Hugs
