“I want to thank anyone who spends part of their day creating…anybody who spends part of their day sharing their experience with us….I think this world would be unlivable without art and I thank you.” ~ Steve Soderbergh ♥

I was just thinking this morning about how artistic expression seems to be spreading like pollen. There was a long period of time in which art and creativity were oppressed by an elitist view of art…it had to fit into a certain picture. This caused so many people to think they were NOT CREATIVE. But not anymore. Art for art’s sake, for humans sake, for the sake of the world and all of life, is alive and moving through communities, the internet…from one soul to another. It is beautiful and healing.
Candace… it is true… and I have been thinking more and more about this in the past year as well. You expressed it so beautifully above. As this year 2012 unfolds before us… there are so many changes taking place…and tapping into and expressing our creative essence with a renewed sense of awakening is such an important part of these changes on earth…. xoxox Sandi
Awesome and so validating to those of us who dabble with paint and cloth and paper and stuff – love it!!!
As someone who loved colour and art in elementary school, but then was not encouraged in the least by a highschool art teacher, I am so thankful to have been opening my creative wings again. Now, just shy of thirty years past high school, I am dancing forward into the fearless place of knowing that even though someone once judged my art as no good, I can BREATHE again!!! Artists need to create . . . it’s why we have been created . . . . . we have been created to breathe out a life-giving creative expression that can change the world!! It may change the world only for ourselves, or only for one other . . . but it may change the world for thousands. It doesn’t matter how many it touches, it’s no less important. Beautiful women, shake off the negative words spoken to you about how you paint, how you write, dance or draw . . . . . breathe out that creativity and shine for the world to see!!! You are deeply loved!!!!
Love this phrase! <3 So true and inspiring! <3
