This has been such a happy happy week! TWO of our favorite magazines came out, and (if you’ll excuse some horn tootin’) with features on Melody (Somerset Studio) and Brave Girl Camp (Where Women Create Business)! We are admittedly more than a little giddy and overwhelmed to open the pages of these GORGEOUS magazines that we LOVE and see photos from our own doings here in Idaho!
First, the deliciously lovely Somerset Studio….here’s the gorgeous cover….
Within its pages you’ll find a beautiful article called, “Melody Ross & The Art of Doing It Anyway”, by Christine Mason Miller, author of “Desire to Inspire: Using Creative Passion to Transform the World”. www.christinemasonmiller.com
Melody is not good at tootin’ her own horn, so she will no doubt be embarrassed at this post, but I’m am writing it ‘anyway’!! I have read many articles written about my little sister, but this Somerset article is particularly lovely and well-written…
Here’s a bit of what Christine wrote: “This past March, in the cozy nest that is Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, I facilitated a five-day retreat with Melody Ross. …. After having heard so much about it, (my family and friends) wanted to know how it went, and I found myself telling the same stories every time, starting with the exact same statement: “Melody Ross is an amazing human being.” See goes on to list some of the things that Melody has dedicated her life to, including Brave Girls Club….”a community for women everywhere who want to do big things with their lives…with love and kindness and as much joy as possible. Brave Girls Club is at the center of an uplifting array of offerings that Melody developed in response to a long period of personal difficulty and turmoil. (Melody said)…
“When you have been through hell, and you remember the way out, I feel like you have a responsibility to share your map to help others get out…and to shine a bright light on the trail so that they can find their way out, too. Sometimes you even get to walk people home, and there is nothing in the world as beautiful as seeing someone find their way back home to themselves.”
This is such a lovely article in an absolutely beautiful magazine….all of the articles are so fabulous, and as always with Somerset Studio, the photography is stunning stunning stunning!! You will LOVE IT.
NEXT….another favorite magazine, the second issue of the awesome Where Women Create Business has just hit the newsstands!
Of all the things we do in our little business, Brave Girl Camp is by FAR our favorite…it is where our passion lies., so to have an article about Brave Girl Camp in this magazine makes us sooooo happy!
You’ll find beautiful photos taken at camp…you’ll find all of our secrets to creating a truly life-changing retreat. The article reads, “We nurture our guests with beautiful experiences and wonderful care. We create art. We eat beautiful hand-crafted food. We listen to soulful music. We circle around the fire, we walk through the forest, we unplug from the distractions of everyday life, and we learn to listen to our souls again….we learn to listen to each other again….”
“While sitting around the fire or in funky vintage sofas and chairs in the Art Barn, we learn each other’s stories. We learn that in spite of our labels, we really are all the same and we can leave knowing that we have the same value and potential that everyone else has…and that we have a responsibility to each other….We have seen miracles happen when women make the choice to live a brave life and reach out and help others to live one, too.”
In the article, you will also find “Brave Girl Tips for Retreat Planning”. Check it out!
We give our deepest thanks to Somerset Studio and Where Women Create Business!! We hope that you might look for these amazing publications in book stores and newsstands everywhere, or visit their websites to subscribe.
AND…if Brave Girl Camp is something your heart is pulling you toward, check it out here. We would LOVE to have you come join us…it really is the time of your life!!
Enjoy this beautiful day, brave friends!
