“To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return, you will receive untold peace and happiness.”
Robert Muller
“Always forgive your enemies – nothing annoys them so much.”
Oscar Wilde
“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.”
Lewis B. Smedes

I love the last quote. I actually found it sometime back when I was googling for a quote on forgiveness to add to my journal.. Love how powerful and true that statement is!
Couldn’t agree more. Once I forgive I will be free….
I have found the most difficult person to forgive is ME. How could I be so……blah, blah, blah (insert every negative label you can think of about yourself). But, as so many of your quotes, encouragments and bits of wisdom have stated – how can I not forgive me – who am I to think that forgiveness isn’t something I deserve? If my higher power can forgive, know my darkest secrets and still love me, then I have the right to follow her lead – after all, who knows me better than her?
I am brave – sometimes, I don’t wish to die but at night I think it would be OK if I don’t wake up in the morning. And then every morning, I wake up and give a prayer of ‘thank you’ and start my day again with the belief that today I am OK – where I am, who I am and what I am meant to do.
I used to think that having purpose in this life meant I had to do something really BIG, but something as simple as smiling at someone I see on the bus may be the BIGGGEST thing that person received that day – that is BIG, not just for me for them as well.
Dear Beautiful Girl,
You have plenty of time to figure it out….don’t put so much pressure
on yourself. Remember that most of us are alive for nearly 100 years…
and in those 100 years, we will have lots and lots of opportunities to get
things right. It is never too late……and you can start over again every
single day, for the rest of your life if that’s what it takes.
In the years of our life, we can count on the fact that we will continuously
fall on our faces, make mistakes and take the wrong paths sometimes….we
just will…all of us. It’s part of the deal.
You are absolutely spectacular….no matter what your mistakes have been…
no matter how many times you have had to start over…and not matter how many
lessons it takes for you to learn valuable things…..you are just an awesome
student of life. You are the fun one! You are the one the teacher makes the
lessons for in the first place!
So sweet friend, cut yourself some slack…do better tomorrow….count the
victories you HAVE had….look how far you have come…..and especially, look
deep into that pure and beautiful heart of yours and see that THAT is who you
are. You are not your mistakes or your wrong turns or the weaknesses that you
are STILL working on overcoming……that is your human part……you are the
BIG BEAUTIFUL spirit part….the one who keeps trying, every day.
So…keep it up…kiss yourself in the mirror and tell your cute self that you
are doing just fine.
So much love…
xoxo
I love to forgive and it is so easy to do.
I agree with Lynn, it really is hard to forgive yourself. Some people can pull it off, but I am struggling with it still.
Baby steps !!!
I too love the last quote.
It is unfortunate I was told and came to believe if you forgave someone, then you condone the act of that person.
When I learned that was truly a lie and it was okay to forgive without believing the act was just, then I was able to let go of so much anger, sadness and deep down gut wrenching hurt.
Forgiveness is for you, a gift of love you give to your self and the world.
“Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit.” Peter Ustinov
The last quote is from his book “The Art of Forgiveness”". I just picked it up yesterday…but it came very highly recommended.
I want to forgive myself. I know to forgive me is the hardest person to forgive – I also Iknow I will transform my heart, spiritt and thought pattern if i do forgive myself. Its a gift I want to give to those that surround me, its a gift I want to give to myself. I choose to start forgiving myself today! Please help me dear god to forgive me.
FORGIVENESS IS THE KEY TO MY SPIRITUALITY, PEACE IN MY HEART & SOUL, TRUE HAPPINESS, & THE GIFT OF LOVE. WITHOUT IT I WILL ALWAYS BE IN THE DARK, IN A LIFE WITH NO MEANING. FORGIVING MYSELF IS A TRUE GIFT OF LOVE. I TOO PRAY, DEAR GOD, TO HELP ME TO FORGIVE MYSELF & OTHERS, SO THAT I CAN GO WHERE THE PEACE IS. AMEN!
I am so happy to have found your blog today:) That last quote sears my soul!
