I’m Sabrina Ross – the last name came from my husband, who happens to be the son of Melody Ross (who if this is your first time here is the co-founder of Brave Girls Club). Some of you may know me from past Brave Girls Camps, or from talking to me when I worked in BGC customer service. I’m now a stay at home mom to the most adorable boy in the universe.
Right now, I’m sitting in the kitchen of a beautiful little stone cottage, in the Carmel/Big Sur, CA area, wondering what I am doing writing a blog post…haha. Maybe you are wondering that too…
Well, it’s all because Brave Girls Club is re-filming Soul Restoration. Their very first online course, which they launched almost exactly 5 years ago in January 2011. [For those of you who might be new to BGC – Soul Restoration is really just what it sounds like restoration for your soul – the restoring of YOU. Provided in the form of an online class.]
I’m just along for the ride to document the whole re-filming process and share it with you.
You, like me, might want to know why? Why re-film Soul Restoration?
I had my husband Brock explain it to me and he said this, “We first made Soul Restoration 5 years ago… over those 5 years, we’ve taught this message to thousands of people online, and used it at over 30 retreats–and we’ve learned SO MUCH. My mom [Melody] has seen which parts work best, which parts need some tweaking… and, most excitingly, that Soul Restoration is for EVERYONE, not just women. With all the new knowledge and skills we’ve gained as a team, it’s time to revitalize Soul Restoration so that it’s the best possible version we can offer… for everyone, everywhere.”
Re-film Soul Restoration so that BGC’s core message can do what it was always meant to do… heal, teach, empower, and give every person the gift of having their truest self back – restored.
To do this they brought their small production team together, Kathy and Melody [the founders of BGC], and Brock [the afore mentioned videographer]. They dreamed of a beautiful, soulful place to film in… and they found this deeply magical place.
After a lot of hard work refining the curriculum and a little more planning, we all got on an early bird flight to San Jose.
We spent most of the first day traveling and shopping for decor, food, and other necessities for our week here.
After our rental car was absolutely bursting at the seams with food, decor, and baby rental gear… we finally got around to climbing the treacherous road to our little cottage.
Really all the credit goes to Kathy for driving up a one lane road, right on the cliffside, to get us here…
but oh the view is so beautiful from up here.
Our second day was spent both dodging and enjoying the rain …
of course during rain showers you could find us inside working…
and in-between showers you would find everyone outside filming or in my case taking a lot of pictures… 🙂
at the end of these days we’ve been hanging out together, eating Kathy’s yummy food, and talking to people back home…
Well, now we are heading off to a world renowned beach! I’ll be back to show you more soon. 🙂
