Hello, beloved Braves! Brave Girl Symposium is in about THREE WEEKS! (Can you believe it?)
Connection is something that is very important to us at Brave Girls Club, and one of the primary goals we have for Symposium. We believe there is so much potential in this gathering of beautiful souls for strengthening existing bonds AND making wonderful new ones.
We know that while most of us love talking to and getting to know people, it’s not always easy to initiate that first contact. That’s why we are so excited about some opportunities planned to help all of us reach out, say hello, and hopefully build and lift the women around us throughout the event (and maybe leave with some lasting friendships).
First, our friend and Symposium speaker Liz Brown-Reeves is heading up a Love Squad, whose purpose is to “…be empowered with making sure that when sisters are sitting solo or seem lonely that we are being proactive in our outreach to make everyone feel included, welcome and most of all loved.”
We will also have a leave a truth card, take a truth card table, so that everyone has a chance to take but also give some of the amazing collective love and wisdom in our beloved community (that’s all of you!).
Another brand-new thing this year is our first-ever pin swap! This is a connection project that will be ongoing through the week. We will get you started with a beautiful bag that Melody designed just for Symposium. It has one blank side that is just perfect for displaying and keeping your pins.
Each Symposium attendee will get one of these cuties, because we love our home, and of course this is what most people recognize Idaho for:
What will you bring? You can contribute as few or as many as you’d like. Get creative! They could be pins like above, traditional pinback buttons, safety pins with some pretty beads… anything you can think of that shows who you are or where you’re from, or just makes you happy! Buy them, make them at home, or make them in the Symposium art room:
We will have our 1.25″ button machine and paper punch available for use, and supplies on hand to custom-make your very own pins to keep or trade (pin-making hardware will be available in the Symposium Shoppe). You are also most welcome to bring your own supplies.
We’re eager to see what you come up with, and witness the conversations that happen! Then you’ll be able to go home with little keepsakes to remind you of the people you connect with.
If you have questions or we can assist you in any way, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. See you there!
