Sweet, supportive, loving, incredible Brave Girls….you know that all around you and all around the world Brave Girls just like you are struggling. They don’t show it, but inside they feel it. What if you knew? What if you could see into their hearts? What if she was your sister or your daughter or your mom. Today our question is…
What would you tell a Brave Girl who is struggling to find much to be grateful for?
Remember…she is real. What would you tell her if you had a quiet minute together? Leave a comment and tell her…she’ll find it.
xoxo

I would tell her that no matter how bleak or challenging things may seem there is always a lesson and a blessing and even though it may not be apparent right away to keep looking for the bright spot. It is there if you look hard enough. You may need to start small and focus on just one tiny little thing that is going right or one tiny bright spot like a sunset, or someone’s smile. Once you find one thing, it becomes easier to find more. Take nothing for granted and you will find more and more reasons to be grateful. Make a mental list of these or write them down. Don’t hesitate to be grateful for things that may seem obvious and don’t think anything is too “corny” to make your list. When things get really dark pull out your list for inspiration. And when things are good, challenge yourself by always looking for things to add to your gratitude list. When I was younger and things went wrong my mom used to always say “Some day you will laugh at this.” I now try to speed up that process and find the humor now, why wait for some day.
Rcognize and acknowledge your struggles are real but so are the good things and the good things multiply when you focus on them.
Know that you are loved and that in and of itself is something to be grateful for.
Dear Brave Girl,
Find 5 things you are grateful for every day and write them down as you go to sleep. There are ALWAYS 5 things to be grateful for. Big or small. Whether it’s finding a penny or a guy holding a door for you, your man saying he loves you or your baby being born healthy.
It ends your day on a positive note and makes your nights much more peaceful so that you can wake up and start a new day again as brave as you are.
