I just found a quote as I was researching a bit about the very complex, very important relationship of mothers and daughters…and it pretty much summed up everything I have learned while writing the curriculum for our mother/daughter class….and while DOING the curriculum…and while BEING a mother, and while BEING a daughter….and this very simple and brilliant quote…with no fancy words, just a powerful message…is this:

Mommies are just big little girls. ~Author Unknown

I hope with everything in me that you will look into doing this workshop with us if you have daughters…or if you are a daughter, to do this with your mother…aside from how fun & wonderful the projects are….the most important thing that will happen as you do the classes is that you will begin to SEE each other…as girls…big girls, little girls, young girls, old girls.
Mothers as girls who are trying to do their best and love the best way they know how, and still be who they are…and try to help their daughters be who they are…but really….just grown up little girls who are still trying to figure it out…..
…and mothers seeing their daughters as girls who are trying to do their best and love their best and find a place in the world….and trying to figure things out….and trying to figure out who they are and to BE who they are. THEN, respecting that in each other…standing TOGETHER in those facts, being loyal to each other…respecting each other’s differences and each other’s roles….
…this class is a beautiful thing. I promise you. I have 2 daughters and this stuff is changing everything for us. I have watched all the girls who have participated have beautiful little miracles happening….talking about things that they have never talked about…seeing each other in ways they have never seen each other…making rules for how they will treat each other…
but most of all…HAVING FUN!!!!!!!!! You will learn some new art stuff…you will make beautiful things that you love…for each other and for yourself…..and you will just have a blast.
So…please at least look into it. This is an important relationship…a very hard relationship, a very special relationship…….and a very very very rewarding relationship. This is a great way to work on it together…

what an opportunity to do across generations! mom-daughter-grand daughter – or m0ther-in law- daughter-in-law-grandaughter! especially when there are no daughters who have had children. a mother-in law/daughter-in-law duo is so important to nurture for the sake of the next generation. thank you dear melody!!!
I am so very excited about this class – I am the mother of a 10 year old daughter and it is a tough job! I can’t wait to get started and see how our relationship can grow and change in ways I wasn’t even expecting.
This is Exciting! I am so happy that I have the chance to take this Mother/Daughters class. I have two girls, 6 and 8 and they have always been so interested in my scrapbooking. I knew it would be a wonderful surprise for us to take this class together. One of my favorite things is to look back at what my babies have created… This will give me new projects and creations to cherish! Thank you for your awesome Brave Girls & Daughters!
So glad my daughter and I are taking this course. She is 10 and changing so quickly… it can bring tears if I allow. When I asked if she wanted to do this course she was so excited and didn’t want to wait to get started. This weekend we are going to immerse ourselves in mother daughter time and begin our books!
Cheers to you for being creative and thoughtful and so very inspiring.
XOXO

My daughter and I are taking this course, and I’m wondering if there is going to be a forum/group for this group of women/girls for us to connect and share thoughts?
Thanks!
I love the glass marble quotes and wondering if you have the instructions for those? I don’t have children so probably not going to be taking the mother daughter course, but would love to know how those are made! Thanks!
