We are ALL artists…we all have a divine spark of creativity within us that yearns to create something that wasn’t there before…whether we paint, draw, sew, stitch, cut, mold, cook, bake, sing, play, write, nurture, heal, sculpt, carve, engrave, quilt, garden, spin, weave, dye, collage….there are as many ways to create as there as creative souls.
Today, let’s celebrate the artist in all of us. Let’s celebrate that burning in our souls that cries out to express herself in ways that are unique and beautiful!! Let’s give ourselves the gift of TIME to devote to artistic expression…in ways that are ours and ours alone. Let’s teach our children and our friends to do the same, and let’s encourage and enjoy one another’s creations.
Let’s find ways to create beauty today…for we are ALL artists!!

Thank you! I needed to be reminded that I am an artist, and not a cubicle rat on the treadmill of corporate life.
Yes. This is a great reminder! Last summer I took a painting class at the local arts council and another class member told me something valuable. I was frustrated because everyone else in the class had been painting for a long time and I was a novice – so, of course, my results were quite different from theirs. Then, she said, “Think of painting the way you think of people’s handwriting. We all use the same pen or pencil and paper and the same alphabet, but everyone’s handwriting is unique to them. Just as my handwriting is different from yours, my brush will not make the same marks on the canvass as you make.” I liked that advice. It helped me relax and enjoy the process more.
thank you so much! yesturday some one said “The truth is, people won’t but your designs unless their the “best of the best”.” to me but when My friends mom shared this on my facebook page and I looked at it it made me feel sooo much better!!!
Beautiful! Thanks for the reminder that being an ARTIST includes more uses of mediums (media?) than painting alone.
