dear gutsy girl…a little bird told me…

Dear Gutsy Girl,

As life moves forward and we begin to be fair and compassionate and kind with ourselves…we begin to see how very complex we are…how many layers of memories and emotions and dreams and longings and fears and limitations and magnificence are woven into our life stories.

Knowing this helps us to be even more fair and compassionate with ourselves.

dear gutsy girl…a little bird told me…

Dear Gutsy Girl

As life moves forward and we begin to be fair and compassionate and kind with ourselves, we begin to see how very complex we are, how many layers of memories and emotions and dreams and longings and fears and limitations and magnificence that are woven into our life stories. Knowing this helps us to be even more fair and compassionate with ourselves.

For the sake of soul-deep peace, it is such a beautiful way of being, sweet friend, to also look to every person in your life the same way, to every person alive! Everyone has layers and layers and layers in his or her story. Everyone has experiences that we can not see, has fears and hurts and magnificence that we can not see. Everyone is working through something big at every moment that we can not see. Knowing this and remembering this helps us to be even more fair and compassionate with others.

Because of our beautiful layers in all of our stories, a beautiful way to live is to simply forgive, don’t take things personally and try to always imagine that others are doing the best they can in their own personal battle. As you go along, give yourself the same grace. To forgive others quickly and thoroughly and to forgive yourself will bring real, lasting peace. Life can be so joyful when we live this way.

And your life was meant to be joyful all along.

You are so very loved.
xoxo

dear fantastic girl…a little bird told me…

Dear Fantastic Girl,

So often there are beautiful, comforting and helpful things right in front of us…waiting for us to notice and take hold…yet for all sorts of reasons, we keep looking past those things.

Often we feel like we have to do more to “earn” help or comfort or blessings. Often we want to struggle through to prove that we can do it on our own and we run ourselves into the ground before we ask for help. Often we are so busy with our heads down, plowing through and suffering…that we simply fail to notice things that would ease our pain that are right in front of us, and often have been there all along.

Take some time, sweet friend, to look around and see what is there to make things better. Notice good books, helpful people, generous offers and random acts of grace. When something shows up, open yourself up to it…simply saying thank-you is enough…you don’t have to earn it, you don’t have to do anything to “deserve” it.

You are worthy of comfort, blessings and help.
You are so very very very loved.
xoxo

dear weary girl…a little bird told me…

Dear Weary Girl,

There are days that come that we wish we could just get over with as quickly as possible…yet they last and last and last, leaving us tired, discouraged and sometimes even a little lonely.

There are situations that come along that make us doubt ourselves, our abilities and our intentions…situations that we didn’t ask for and that come along like a swarm of flies at a summer picnic.

Please know, sweet friend, that EVERYONE has these days. When you feel like the wind has been knocked out of you, just know that tomorrow will come, that things will get better, and that a good night of rest will recharge your confidence and help you recommit to your purpose. Things always turn around. Hard days always come to an end.

The wonderful thing about difficult days is that they make good days even sweeter…good friends even more precious and good news even more exciting. Good things are on their way to you.

You are so very loved.
xoxo

dear lovely girl…a little bird told me…

Dear Lovely Girl,

Sometimes the answers just don’t make sense, even though we know they are the right answers. One of the hardest parts of being an adult is that we have to take responsibility for the things we know to be right and true…which means we often have to make very hard decisions and accept very difficult right answers.

Often the reward for making a good decision doesn’t come for a very long time, or so it seems. Often we have to wait to fully understand why it is so important to do the things that our hearts know to be true.

When the time comes though, we can always look back and see the things we were protected from, the path that was laid before us, and the way things worked out exactly the way they were supposed to…..and that if we had not have listened to the right answers for our life, things would not have worked out that way at all.

Be still with it. Be patient. Trust in it….even when it hurts a little.
You are so very loved.
xoxo
