Dear Persistent Girl,

There are so many times when we do things we feel like we need to be doing, but we have no idea why we are doing them. Often we work and work and work toward something and can not really see what is coming out of it. There are so many times we feel prompted to do or say something randomly, and it doesn’t make any sense, but the feeling to do it is so strong.

Keep listening to your gut and to your heart, and keep going doing the things that your deepest inner voices are prompting you to do. You may never know of the enormous difference that you made to someone, somewhere….but no good and true act ever goes without a good and true outcome….even if we never see it come to fruition with our own eyes.

Also…when you are working toward an important goal…so much of the progress is like the roots of a tree or a plant….you can not see what is happening under the soil, but what is being built is what will sustain, feed and hold up what you are building for years to come.

So, even if you can’t see it…keep doing it if that’s what your heart is telling you to do. The greatest gift in all of this is peace, but chances are….before too long….you will start to see all of the hard work you are doing come together…and you will be so thankful that you stuck with it.

You are one of a kind…such an inspiration. Thanks for being you.

Brave Girl Daily 7.3.12 – Grandma’s Parade….

Well………….I shoulda known it…..that the fun and fun and beauty and beauty and awesomeness of all of these thousands of flowers at the ranch would yield some serious work…pretty much nonstop. Now…don’t get me wrong..it is totally worth it…….but the flowers KNOW they are loved around here and they grow and grow and grow and they bloom and bloom and bloom and then they say…..it is time for deadheading! It is time for pruning! It is time for thinning!!! (these are all new words that I am an expert in….google ‘em if you want to know more!) But…truly it is worth all of the work it takes…..just today these are the pretty remains from the last week of blooms in the pots…..

So….tomorrow is the 4th of July….and we come from a very small town where there is a traditional small town 4th of July parade…and TOMORROW….my 95 year old grandmother is going to be one of the stars of the parade…….so we made a sign for her today….we will make sure and take lots of pictures……she will be riding in a red convertible and she will look fabulous like she always does. We inherited her adoration of all things beautiful and lovely from her. She still does her hair and makeup every day and puts on beautiful jewelry every day…..I am sure she will be the picture of elegance and loveliness in the parade tomorrow morning and we can’t wait!

Here she is….this is her portrait from April on her 95th birthday.

She is the original brave girl…………we are going to tell you all about her very soon……tomorrow she will be honored and it will be awesome.

Brave Girl Daily 7.2.12 – Filming again!

Today we started filming footage for our newest online class that we will be announcing very soon……it was a hot hot hot day here……but the big trees provide tons of shade and add in a gypsy umbrella and life is good…..here’s one of the big questions we will be discussing in the super fun art course….

Then of course we got down to business and filmed some instruction…..can’t wait to show you all of the hundreds of amazing techniques, ideas and projects we will be doing….the new series of courses is called BRAVE GIRL ART SCHOOL….it has been SO MUCH FUN to work on and we can’t wait to launch it!!!

This photo below will make you laugh if you take the class and see what became of it….trust me…

So…….I took a few minutes to sit under the umbrella for no reason at all except that it was pretty and and shady and all that you could hear were hundreds of birds and the river flowing…wouldn’t you do the same???

And….the raspberries are ripe. YUM. TRIPLE YUM. Oh…and they are so pretty and so sweet! These came from my mother-in-law’s garden….she brought over a big huge beautiful tub of them that she had just picked…we have been enjoying ever little juicy bite…

When we were picking up all of the filming stuff from the forest today…I kept finding messages that I had hidden for the Brave Girls that I didn’t remember that I had hidden….I love that. I sooo wanted to for them to find them EXACTLY when they needed them……and now it’s happening to ME because I keep finding messages at random times…….I love that so much. I love when things turn out to have a big old cherry on top.

Dear Perfectly Wonderful Girl,

Are you carrying an old or new burden around like a heavy bag of rocks, letting it drag you down and hold you back? Is it a belief about yourself or someone else. Is it a mistake you made. Is it something that someone else did to you that you can not overcome?

It is time to stop shaming yourself. It is time to start treating yourself with the kind of love that you treat others with. It is time to overcome it.

You are not your past, and you are not your mistakes. You are not what others say you are and you are not your limitations, your weaknesses or your frailties. You are not the horrible things that others have done to you. You are not your addictions or your family or your dress size or your tax return.

You are a priceless, authentic, light-filled soul. No one has ever been created just like you and no one ever will be. You are worth more than you can ever know.

It is time to see yourself this way, with unconditional love, kindness and forgiveness. Today, let go of the shame. Let go of it. It is time.
