Dear Peaceful Girl,
When we are stuck in a situation where we don’t know
anyone, or when others do not know us...even if it’s
a situation that has been dragging on for years,
it’s easy to pull away, to start to feel bad, or to
make things up in our heads about why things are the
way they are.
Often we wait for others to come to us and make an
effort to really get to know us, and we get our
feelings hurt when they don’t.
The path to peace in this situation, beautiful
friend, is to treat all of those people the way that
you are yearning to be treated...and then to expect
absolutely nothing in return. Try to get to know
them, show sincere interest in them....do little
things to serve and love them and show them their
value....write them little notes and always have a
smile ready...and then walk away with happiness in
your heart, but expecting nothing in return. Even if
this kindness is met with unkindness at
first....don’t give up...keep going and being the
kind of person that you know to be.
This way...we have done what we know to be right and
true...which always feels good. If the goodness is
reciprocated, it is simply a wonderful surprise gift
that will feel ten times more beautiful because we
weren’t expecting anything to happen at all.
You can do it, friend....anywhere, anytime...you can
be the person you have been waiting to meet.
You are amazing.
