in caps because I feel like yelling at the top of my lungs….I DO WANT TO LOVE MY LIFE! Every minute of every day of every week of every month of every year I have remaining on this Earth…I want to love my life—and through that love become a more productive person! I cannot wait for SR2…June 7th hurry hurry hurry <3<3<3<3
Excited to continue with this journey!
I REALLY appreciate this course outline! It helps me see the progressive steps I will be taking toward making and achieving goals, step by step, so that my life is one that is really meaningful and joyful to me. It speaks of focus, imagination, and FUN!!! It really seems like this is going to be a blast!
Having done that, I will be overflowing with love and confidence to share with others….which is such an important part of doing this.
Can’t wait until June 7th!
So excited to start!
I am a little behind on being able to finish up SR1 and really want to do SR2. I have a long vacation that will be right in the beginning & am wondering if things will be ok if I am behind on all of it by weeks. I know that Melody talks about how you can take a whole year to do this course. I was thinking that I could address each week within a month. Let me know you ladies thoughts!!
Thank you so much
Imagine me jumping all over my bed, dancing to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way. That’s how I’m feeling right now! SO ready. SO SO SO ready!!!!! BRING IT! <3 <3 <3 <3
Just how big is your *big journal*, Melody?
really looking forward to this journey!!!
I am amazed at how much I have grown in Soul Restoration 1….I often find my thoughts throughout the day, weather I’m at work or at home, on the valuable lessons I’ve learned. I can’t begin to say how I feel about this class…,.will tell everyone about it. I must say I am really looking forward to Soul Restoration 2……and dreaming that we will have some more classes in the near future!!!
Amy
Melody and Kathy,
I have watched you and admired you both from my quiet little corner for years. I have been following Brave Girls Club and getting the daily emails since you started. I finally took the first step toward being brave and registered for Soul Restoration 2 because I had to start now before I gave up again. I have had a lot of “stuff” happening in my life the last few years and I need to find me. I am so excited. Now I have a deadline to clean up and organize my craft room so I have a space to create me. Thanks for helping us all to be brave!!
Ahhhhh, Lisa, this is such a sweet note — thanks for sticking with us from the beginning. I’m excited that you’re taking Soul Restoration 2…it’s going to be SO MUCH FUN!!! Thanks for posting. XOXO – kathy
I have the same question as Darcey, I am behind on SR1, loving it but having a tough time getting through it due to LIFE interfering. I print off all of my materials as soon as they are available & I see that you say that taking SR1 is not a requirement for SR2 but what is the best way to handle this? I do not see myself finishing SR1 by the 7th, although I am going to try. If I am not done by then, do I put it aside & jump into SR2 & go back to 1 afterwards? Or finish up 1, print off my materials for 2 & get to that when 1 is finished up?
Thank you for this class, it is doing me a world of good, making me think about things that I wouldn’t do on my own & even though I am only just finishing She Did it Anyway, I do feel change in myself.
Hi, Sue and Darcy -
This is a REALLY good question, because as women, we have so much on our plates and so much responsibility. I am so glad that both of you are taking the time to give yourself this class. But I do understand that it can be hard to find time to finish, and it can be very frustrating when you get behind!
We do have some concrete ideas that are going to help you.
First, you may have to come to grips with the fact that there may not be enough time to finish. Please be okay with that! The secret is to prioritize and do the most important, most meaningful things FIRST, and then the other things if there is time.
1) Watch the videos. You can get SO MUCH wonderfulness out of the class even if all you were ever able to do is watch the videos. It will even help if you repeat them in the background while you are doing other things.
2. If you have project time, make Truth Cards. Start with just ONE for each lesson. Make it as simple as you want or that you have time for. The important thing here is to get the Truths that resonate with you on paper.
3. Journal. Get started on your Art Journal. Even if you only have time to jot a few lines, or write a question at the top of the page, or glue in something from your curriculum packet. Give yourself a time limit so that you don’t feel like you don’t have time. Say to yourself, I’m going to write in my art journal for 10 minutes. Then just write subjects or lessons titles or ANYTHING in your journal. You can find 10 minutes! Remember that your Art Journal is NOT to be finished with this course…just begun. It’s meant to be something that you add to in the future.
4. If you find you have more time, then get into the projects from the class. They are WONDERFUL and worth the time.
BIG SECRET: Melody and I have learned that there are magic hours that are waiting just for busy women like us and like YOU. They are the early morning hours before the family wakes up. When we have a project deadline and are crunched for time, you’ll find us up at 4:00 a.m. For some reason, those hours are the most productive of our days. There are no interruptions, we are surprisingly awake and alert and creative. If you normally get up at 6:00 a.m., then that’s 2 FREE hours. For some reason, I rarely feel extra tired after an early morning session.
If you don’t finish SR 1 before SR 2 starts, don’t worry. Just make sure you’ve watched the videos and printed out the curriculum sheets, then set it aside and give your full attention to SR2.
I hope these ideas help! The most important thing is to not give up!!! You are worth the time you are squeezing in.
love,
kathy
Thank you Kathy, that is exactly what I needed.
I do watch all of the videos, and do have them playing in the background or refer to them while working on a project. I have done quite a bit of journaling and just did my first art journaling page. I had a few truth cards made but didn’t like the paper I did them on so I bought more the other day & am going to re-focus on those.
I have been focusing more on getting the weekly projects done but I think that switching gears would not be hard & might actually be good for me. I am actually quite ok with not finishing “on time”, even at age 54 I have realized I am a work in progress so I don’t need to be bound by a deadline.
4:00 a.m.??? I guess that would mean going to bed before midnight
Signing up for SR2 as soon as I finish up this note
Sue
Question….
I was reading the supply list for this class. It says a large journal for writing and collages. It doesn’t state what type of paper is preferable… I bought something that now… I think may not work. It is a drawing pad of 80 lb. paper and it’s a spiral pad… I also bought a watercolor pad (because I want to try my hand at watercoloring) that is over 100 lb. pad about 14×17 inches and is also spiral bound.
Please tell me …. from your experience… do I need a book bound journal/collage book. Have any of you found what does and doesn’t work? At Michael’s they sell books with all sorts of different types of paper. I did watch Melody’s video about the supplies. I was just able to get the spiral pads for a great price.
Maggie
Okay I am officially in see you on the other side
This is gonna be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot wait!!! Love it!!!!!!!!!
ok, i think kathy’s note in regards to not being fully finished with sr1, yet moving forward with sr2… confirmed what i’ve been leaning towards, but really just a bit scared and a bit overwhelmed to do… sign up for sr2 t.o.n.i.g.h.t.!!!! thank you so much, EVERYONE, for asking all of these GREAT questions, and of course, to kathy for answering them! just reading this has gotten me motivated to move forward and join all of you on the sr2 journey, even though, i am still working on week 4 “she did it anyways”. i am hopeful that i can finish by june 7th, but i’m not sure that is a reality, but at least now i am confident that if it doesn’t happen, i can still move forward to sr2 and really enjoy every moment of it – w/out the constant worry of sr1 not being finished looming.
Is this/do you recommend this for someone is going through many things in Thier life right now- or someone who has got it a “little bit” together? I wonder if it will free me or make me crazier!!
Hi, Sue -
Your question made me laugh!! I think I like you, kiddo! The fact is that this class is going to be great whether you are going through a lot of stuff right now, or you have it a little bit ‘together’ as you say. Either way and it’s going to be great!
I love this, Brooke…you feel a little scared and overwhelmed but you’re going to ‘do it anyway’!! Way to go. xoxo
Hi, Maggie -
That’s a good question. Melody (and many of us) have made art journals out of every kind of notebook and paper you can imagine! If the pages are too thin, you can always mod podge a few together to make thicker pages. Our favorite journal (and the one we provide at Brave Girl Camp) is a hard bound sketch book with thick pages. We order them from dickblick.com, but we always manage to find similar ones on clearance at Barnes and Noble, too. The pages just need to be thick enough to accept paint without falling apart or crinkling too much. You might just try experimenting with the notebooks you have…they’ll probably be just fine. XOXO
Beverly, I hope it’s okay if I answer your question. Melody has a lot of art journals, but the big hard bound journal that she recommends these days is about 9×12…something close to that.
I am sooooo excited that I won the SR2 giveaway today. I will treasure it all, but ESPECIALLY the brave girls sweatshirt (may be wearing it while I work on SR projects even if it will be 80+ degrees in June) and the BG apron (yep, wearin’ that too). If you haven’t signed up, do it right now. You still have three chances to win some fantastic goodies from Melody’s new line and Brave Girls! Kathy and Melody…..I just can’t thank you enough. Coming to Brave Girls Camp in person is going to happen one day, because I absolutrely have to give you both real life hugs. I love what you are doing for women everywhere. I love what you are doing for me. Thank you.

sorry for the duplication…I guess I’m doubly excited
Well I finally signed up for SR-2 tonight – i really didn’t think I would be able to pull together the money. I lost my job last month and things are so tight, my darling husband chipped in , he said I really think this is a good thing for you right now. I’m just so grateful to him and to my higher power for answering my prayers. I’m a lucky lady and I can’t wait to start:
Oh how I would love to take this 2nd part of Soul Restoration ( I loved the first one…so life changing)…the finances are not allowing it at this time…I have been in such a funk lately and Melody’s latest blog post explains me exactly..I just don’t know how to put it into words like she does..we as woman put so much pressure on ourselves to be all we can be for others that we forget who we are..Thank you for sharing with all of us women what it takes to do things for us..Love you all again thank you for everything,
I have to say, I am soooo looking forward to SR2!! When I hit She Did It Anyway in SR1, I almost literally felt my wings grow in!! It was an amazingly freeing thing!! Put together with the previous couple of lessons, everything clicked for me that week!! I feel lighter! I feel joy! I figured out that I have the strength and the love to put people where they belong (in my Soul House) and place myself where I belong — at the heart of it all. (I am still not finished with all the lessons, but I don’t care right now.I can always catch up later, as I become who I’ve wished I could be!) I am so excited about the possibilities in moving forward with what I have learned and done. As I figure out more about what I truly want, I am excited that I am gaining the courage to step out and do it!! I am so ready to get going with my new and amazing life!!
I do believe that God has more in store for us than we can imagine, if we could just step up to the plate and swing. I have just always though everyone else deserved it so much more than me. Now, I am convinced that He has some of those great things planned for ME, too! Now, because I am so aware of how much and how deeply I am loved by God and so many people, I have given myself permission to really learn to show the same kind of love and forgiveness to myself that I have been showing to others for so many years.
Thank you to Melody and Kathy for this amazing journey, and for sharing so much of themselves to help others. You are both truly a huge blessing from God! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
Every project wakes me up to something hidden inside. I can’t believe how these weeks have begun to heal something I didn’t even know was injured. Thank you so much. I was thinking I would wait to take SR2, but I don’t think I can go on without it, especially after reading these comments. I’m in!
Brave Girls Club has changed my life. At Camp it got me thinking about all the lies and what needed to be done to change my world. Well a month after Camp my world did change quite unexpectedly. So I am now a a path that is a 180 from my previous life. I still have bumps in the road, but they’re from outside sources and SR1 has helped me through that. I am intrigued by the curriculum of SR2, but a bit scared to peel back more layers and reveal the raw unedited me. It might be overwhelming especially with all the changes and drama on my plate right now. I am committed! Being a Brave Girl one day at a time! Wishing love, hugs, and bravery to all!
any idea when you’ll be offering sr2 again? i so want to take this, but i’ve got so many other classes right now.
Crisann, it will probably be in November. xoxo
See you on the other side Fairyrocks!!
Wow. Just when I think you’ve covered all the bases to help us grow….YOU ADD ALL THIS! way cool, girl!
Oh I want to do it, Oh I am scared to do it, Oh let me do it, Oh no I could not possibly do it. Oh yes you can do it…what if , Oh I am scared.. Oh I want…. Gosh that’s like circle mantra going on and on in my head.
But I have not even finished so much of SR1 and I find wallowing in the weak is what I can do so much better than going ahead out into the unknown…I’m afraid.. I’m excited… Wah…… my head’s a spin;p
Good on you brave gals that took the leap already! And heck we others we can do it too, somehow!
All signed up and ready to rock this! Is it June 7th yet????? So blessed to have this opportunity to share this life changing experience with you all…….to God be the glory………..huggs…..
Will registration be open for a few weeks into the course like it was for this recent Soul Restoration 1? I won’t be able to afford it for a few more weeks – but I am SO ready to take it!!
Johanna – YES, registration will be open until sometime in mid July. You’ll have time!! xoxoxo – kathy
I just registered! INVESTED IN ME!!!!!!!!!! Woot! I’d tell you on Facebook but that’d do me no good!!! (hee)
Not sure how I’m going to fit this in with all the company and summer schedule but you know us Brave Girls “do it anyway”!!! Thank you, to each and everyone of you, for giving so much to us so that we can heal and make it all an even bigger circle of healing. If you could only see what has been going on in the SR1 FB page and all the love there that started here. Well- let’s just say most of us feel pretty thankful, supported and loved- and the circle is getting wider and wider with what we take forward into our lives. Blessings to you and yours and my heartfelt thanks. Love, Mel
ps. Ummmm, don’t look at the FB page Melody!!! It will be there and we don’t want to stumble you on this. So proud of yo
Well – I bit the bullet and signed up for SR 2 – after being so disappointed to find out I missed SR 1! But – I am excited and counting the days. I am so looking forward to this creative journey into my soul and look forward to re-awaking my dreams. I hopefully will learn how to build up and maintain the courage to make the changes I want to make in my life. I was feeling too guilty to spend the money on SR 1 and then I remembered I have a birthday coming up and so I am giving a present to myself by taking SR 2.
I am counting the days cannot wait!! xoxo!
Kathy,
I hope you haven’t answered this a million times already. Is the recipe card box that Melody shows in her pictures of the projects and cards the standard 3 1/2 x5 cardbox size or an oversized one? Just a hard plastic one that you find everywhere ok?
LuAnn
LuAnn – the recipe box can be just a standard size for 3×5 index cards. We used those plastic ones that you find everywhere, but if you can find a cardboard one, that might work better because stuff just sticks to cardboard better. But Mel will show you the secrets to using the plastic ones. They sure don’t look plastic after we’re done with them, lol!!
I am confused as to how much time we have. If I count out 10 weeks (6 weeks of class + 4 extra weeks) on the calendar it brings me to the 2nd week of August but you are saying we have until mid – september, what am I missing? just want to make sure that with a busy
summer schedule I will be able to complete this.
Stuck! I’m excited for SR2 but I’m still trying to finish SR1……. for the second time! I can’t believe I got stuck again. I thought I could face everything thinking I’d already dealt with it all but somehow I guess I haven’t. But I didn’t give up because you Really Have Something Here I Believe In and iI Believe in Myself that I will finish it. I took SR1 and then didn’t finish so I took it again and haven’t made it to the timeline yet… but I signed up for SR2 knowing I need this. Kathy, I think it’s a great idea to get up so early in the morning and I think I’ll give that a try. I have 2 kids and now that they are out of school I seem to make everything a priority before my creative time (even before they were out). I love reading the Daily Truths and really wish you’d make those into one of those books that you read a page for every day of the year. I’ve been printing them out to collage and make into a book myself. After struggling with creative block intermittantly over the years, with depression and physical illness, searching for a way to make it all “flow” and to be whole with it, I feel like I have found a path with the Brave Girls Club and your classes. Thank you Melody and Kathy for being the strong inspirational sharing women you are. I totally appreciate you and all you are doing for me/us!
So excited to start SR2. I enjoyed SR1 so much. Melody and Kathy you guys rock! Will we get our log-in passwords soon?
Marlene – We have decided to extend the availability of the class through mid September..that’s why there’s a discrepancy. You’ll have more time than we originally planned! I hope that helps with your busy schedule.
Susie – you’ll get your SR2 login email late Monday (so that we can catch the late registrants).
Are you excited?!?!?!? WE ARE!! Can’t WAIT! XOXO
Sending BIG THANKS and Brave Girl love to Kathy and Melody and Kim and everyone whose names I don’t yet know back at BGC. I was really excited when I received my prize package yesterday from the SR2 drawing! It was packed full of great products to use in the upcoming projects. (Melody, your SOULfood line is perfect! Some of those sweet chipboard pieces are about to become magnets on my frig!) Of course, the apron and sweatshirt are hanging in my creative space for inspiration…but the best part of receiving that package was the handwritten note on the outside of the box that says “We love you!”. THAT made my day, because I feel that love in all that your ladies do! So please know, whoever happened to write that, I LOVE YOU BACK!
