Hi brave girls!

I, like maybe some of you, was on the fence about this class. I mean I had been through 15 years of therapy, what was this class going to teach me? Oh my gosh — let me repeat that — OH MY GOSH. I am on week 3 of Soul Restoration 1 and I can’t stop talking about it, I can’t stop sharing it and I can’t stop thanking Melody and Kathy and the team, it is THAT GOOD. If you are thinking you need to be artistic — PLEASE DO NOT THINK THAT. It’s all self-expression. Nobody judges the work. I am a pretty stubborn person and at the beginning I thought “I’m not going to do the Mod Podge, I’m not going to set my book up that way, etc.” Well. I opened my small little mind, stepped out of my comfort zone and now I am a Mod Podge QUEEN. I am writing about everything, I am gluing everything and most of all …. I am happy. I am peaceful. I am calm. Every single thing that they tell you is true … please, please, please try this class. If I could pay for every girl who needed it, I surely would do so, it’s that important. I’m not sure I can put into words what Soul Restoration is doing for me. But since I don’t usually lack words, I’ll try anyway. ;-) I’ve never felt such release, such relief, such self-realization – and we’re only on Week 3. I’ve learned so much about myself – the good, the bad and the ugly… and it’s transforming my life into what my life had the potential of being. The tears, the smiles… the comradery of the other ladies in the course – the beauty of friendship… it has consumed me and I don’t even want to go to work – I want to stay home and work on my Soul…I can’t say enough about it. I have loved this workshop, the beautiful & Brave Friends I have met, the projects, even the difficult feelings that arose. But I wouldn’t change a thing, my past no longer defines who I am. I choose to walk in the light & that makes me feel at peace. When those “yucky” feelings come back, & they will, at least I have choices & know what to do with them. Wow, who would have thought I could grow so much in only 6 weeks. What Melody did do was provide the most splendid tools, the greatest inspiration and true motivation and unconditional love that I needed so badly. I did the creative and exciting work (I’m still doing the work…hehehe) and I realized I’m braver than I ever thought I could be… I’m worth so much more kindness and love than I have ever allowed myself to have all these years… and that I can shine very, very brightly doing what I love – even through all the layers of Mod Podge. This workshop is the best gift I have ever given to myself. It is the gift of true restoration of the heart and soul. I highly recommend it to everyone, where ever they are in their lives. Melody, Kathy and the Brave Girls staff provide fabulous life tools that you will continue to value and use throughout your life journey. I knew the course had an affect when, about in week three, my mother said, “You are happy. You are more happy than I have seen you in a long time.” Nice. I think part of the ‘magic’ of the course is that, in the process of creating the art, the mind and heart get into “flow,” that state where creativity and truth co-mingle. I experienced flow a lot while a musician…you know, you begin something, and four hours later you look up and can’t believe that much time has passed. In that state, the heart is freed of constraints. Truth can penetrate, and Truth can heal the sores and wounds in our hearts. Anyway, if anyone reading this has not done the course, I encourage you to do so. Save your pennies (like I did.) Make room in the schedule. You do not need to be an artist. You do not need to be a Christian, or religious in any way. (You don’t even need to be a woman…they’re putting together a similar course for men.) What you do need, though, is a heart willing to look at Truth, and to change. – R
   
What did I get from the experience? An amazing experience I shared with many Brave Girls, I made new friends, took part in swaps, met new people, amazed myself at how my life can (and did) change, took stock of where I was, put the past in the past and focused on what I WANTED for the future – simple YES? YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF!!! – P
   
I’m supposed to come up with words to describe a life changing experience? Oh dear… I’ll try. I don’t know that there are enough adjectives in the dictionary to describe Soul Restoration with Melody Ross. Good adjectives. Amazing. Eye-opening. Heartwarming. Heart-wrenching. A time of self-discovery. Melody taught me to love myself. Through all the damage, and all the weakness, and all the CRAP. She taught me how to discover the Sandi that got buried so many years ago… buried to the point that I thought I’d never see her again. Buried by fear, buried by heartbreak… buried by the confines of a sick Soul House…I stand before you today (well actually I’m sitting) a woman that DOES love herself, that has embraced her weak-self and has learned to be the confident, brave girl that she was always meant to be. And in the process I learned SO many cool art techniques – utilized them and actually opened an Etsy shop to sell some of the pieces I made. Those that know me well know that this is a huge, brave step for me. – S. T.
   
When I started the class I wasn’t aware that I was in need of restoring. Funny to write that…but its true. I was just hoping to create art! I was looking for a way to get inspired again. What I got out of this class is so much more than just creating art. I learned that there are things in my life that have made me strong and brave. There are things in my life that have made me vulnerable. There are things that I am so grateful for…and things that I never want to think about again. The curriculum in the class helps you to come to grips with all of it. To take each piece of your life and examine it. To find peace in yourself, to gather it and take it into your soul. Each lesson is a gift. It is hard work and some lessons come easier than others….but they all matter and they all work and they all make you whole. Melody’s approach is like sitting with a girlfriend. It’s comfortable…its funny. Each week comes with videos…and honestly they were my favorite part. Being able to have her in front of you helping you understand that weeks’ lesson was a gift. My journey in Soul Restoration allowed me to connect back to who I am deep down. You don’t have to be an artist! There is so much more going on than the art…the art is a vehicle for healing. Watch the videos of the lesson…watch the art technique videos and most of all enjoy the process….its so very worth it! – S
   
Throughout the course, Melody provided encouragement and a place to be safe. Nothing I posted in the forums would be ridiculed (admittedly, I didn’t post a lot, but it wasn’t through lack of desire) and anytime I had a concern, someone, either Melody or Kathy or other BG staff-type folk, or one of my Restoration colleagues, would address it. Whether it was a concern about how far behind I’d gotten, or that I occasionally felt like a fraud, no comment I made was looked down on. And in this age of anonymous, scathing, and often just downright reprehensible online behavior, that was soooo refreshing! It was wonderful to know that there was a place I could go online and talk to other women about the trials of just living life! – R. W.

Oh Girls!!! That video got me so pumped and laughing and giddy! I can’t wait! Melody… I wanna run across that bridge with you… and all the brave girls!!! I want to be very intentional about living my life. I want to spend my time in meaningful ways, being more conscious of my choices and making them wisely. I don’t want another week, a month, a year, or 5 years to go by and nothing has changed, all while I’m saying, “Someday I’m going to….” And that’s exactly what Soul Restoration 2 is all about. It’s about living the life you want to live (after figuring out what kind of life that is)…instead of just letting life happen to you. – J

I have never been so impressed or moved or motivated by anything as by this class. I am not sure if it’s “the turning 50 thing” everyone talks about or if it’s just that I’ve reached a crossroad in my life where I NEED to make some changes, but this class is just amazing. If you are unhappy with your life (or you can use “discontent” if that makes you feel less guilty); if you feel that you want a “different” life for yourself; if as a woman you are feeling unfulfilled and that there is just “something missing” – take this class. Scrimp and save for the $99 if you have to. But take it. You will not regret it. – E
