The world is constantly testing our resilience and dedication. Even when you think like everything’s in order, the situation can change drastically. As soon as you feel like you’ve made significant progress, the map suddenly turns upside down, leaving you directionless and disoriented. It happens to everyone, even to the most successful people. We’re all scurrying to keep up with all the world’s changes, and honestly? We can use a break. We’re guessing you need one, too.

Mental health awareness day can happen every single day if you want to. It’s also your responsibility to check on your loved ones. Mental illness in a time like this is lethal. Let’s take on this new world together.

  • Give back.

When you’re not feeling well, doing something good for others. Practice generosity. Kindness promotes compassion and empathy, leading to a whole new sense of connection with others. According to Mother Teresa, we can’t do great things on Earth, just small steps with great love. Doing small things with great love is easy. Below are some ideas that you can do now:

  • Lift someone’s spirits by sharing their work on social media
  • Bake cookies and have them delivered.
  • Thank someone for supporting and inspiring you.
  • Reach out to an old friend.

pandemic

  • Pause.

If you want to learn more about the world today, read about the past. Distance yourself from the news. Instead, look into how humans have historically overcome challenges. Dealing with this pandemic is a good example. Don’t check the number of coronavirus cases in your area obsessively. Instead of doing that, read about the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. What mistakes did we make? How did the world overcome it? Is there something you can do differently today? This contemplation offers a much-needed relief and relaxation.

You can also take a break from social media. For most of us, It’s become a physical reflex at this point. Whenever we take breaks, we instinctively reach out for our phones to check it. You see, it’s better to do something else. Self-control is the key to feel terrific.

write

  1. Write.

Not everybody loves to write for leisure. But for most people, writing is cathartic. It just makes them feel good afterward. Writing takes your stresses, fears and anxieties out of the head, and then puts them onto a piece of paper. It removes a little weight of the mental burden. Writing won’t 100% take away your worries, but it can help you process and challenge them. If you’re not that much of a writer, consider writing your thoughts, bulleted style.

  1. Don’t stop learning.

Have you ever heard about online learning? There is a whole new world of learning opportunities at our fingertips. The best thing about this is that it’s so affordable. Make a list of all the skills that you would want to learn. According to research, learning something new can stave off the stress by providing your brain with new obstacles to work through. Furthermore, it improves its elasticity.
