Throughout the years, more and more gender-related issues have been actively raised by avowed feminists and women councils concerning equal rights and treatment for all women. It takes place the moment we scroll through our social media accounts, we are immediately swamped with abundant information some of which are empowering quotes, pictures and news of very successful women across the globe, there are even accounts established solely for the goal to empower women’s livelihood. While there still exists apparent gender inequality facing several aspects, one of which is the number of men-dominated industries (architecture, engineering, agricultural, etc) followed by a corporate world where companies mostly reject women-employment solely because they are prone to paid maternity leave; the world has seemingly improved compared to the past. A country like Saudi Arabia where women were forbidden to drive in vehicles had acknowledged the need to lift such an unreasonable ban. On June 28th 2018, Saudi women saw a glimpse of light shining at the end of the tunnel when they were finally granted the opportunity to drive freely around their country. Though a seemingly minimal issue to women residing beyond this country, this is the least Saudi Arabian rulers can do for the betterment of women’s livelihood while there still exists other discriminating means.
Successful Women Across The Globe
Aung San Suu Kyi
By-passing extensive elaboration and in accordance to the recent Myanmar coup and protest, people with the right set of minds acknowledge the stumbling blocks Suu Kyi needed to overcome to reach the spot she lands feet on today, and evidently, she is still being obstructed by countless barriers in which pose potential death threats similar to what befell her father in 1947. Suu Kyi as a 1991 Nobel Peace Prize winner and a strong democratic symbol herself was placed under several arrests for disrupting the country’s stratocracy over the years, referring to a governmental formation led by military chiefs or in some cases known as junta. After numerous experiences coming in and out of prison throughout her journey of peace and justice-seeking in such a democracy-fragile country, she was pressed charges by the Junta post-arrest in February 2021. Despite having to single-handedly conquer all sorts of bigotry she has faced, she remains just as stern hence her determination in working for the country’s desperately-needed political betterment. Her presence has since empowered many women out there to fight for what is right and stand up for what is not.
Yeonmi Park
Yeonmi was a mere 21-year-old young lady when she sternly made up her mind to escape the repressive North Korean regime in 2014 in order to seek freedom. With her bravery to make such risky decisions and embark on such a life-threatening journey to initiate a turning point in her life, she was granted the opportunity to tell her emotion-stirring tales at the One Young World Summit (activists organization to initiate social change), leaving most of her audiences in tears. While we are petrified with how strict and somewhat insensible rules and regulations North Korean law makers have enforced on their people, Yeonmi spent her childhood brainwashed, witnessing brutal real-life executions, trapped in famine, her beloved mother being raped and was even forced to bury her father on her own. Some North Korean rules pertaining to tourism one of which are the prohibition of independent travel where a personal guide is mandatory and the freedom of touring around the country without one is simply non-existent. In case of violation, authorities will inflict heavy punishment. The fact that Yeonmi’s fundamental human rights were ripped off back in her birth country, she now presents herself as a human rights activist while she continues telling her stories to many others.
North Korean building administrators were instructed by force to update their roofing system respectively back in May 2013 hence the major metal roof installation whilst metal tiles were imported in bulks from China. Metal roofing malaysia is your very solution to a quality roofing system.
Jacinda Ardern
While many countries are still in the midst of surviving such an unprecedented phase and fighting such an infectious virus, New-Zealand has started opening up their economy in slightly rapid pace compared to other countries and focused on recovery as well as rebuild in times of a pandemic thanks to Jacinda Ardern’s outstanding leadership in which her COVID-19 response was recognised across the globe. She is currently in the lead of expanding job opportunities and aiding local businesses in recovering and rebuilding their ventures. Aside from that, in light of the mosque terror attack eventuated on March 15 2019, she immediately stepped in as what a country leader should do to promote unity and compassion. To prevent such tragedy to take place again in the future, she figured it is best to tighten the country’s gun laws and prohibit military-style semi-automatic firearms, alongside other means deemed pertinent to eliminate terrorism and violent extremism. She has since become the source of inspiration many girls and women demand today.
Seyi Falade
Falade is one of the very few women pursuing a career in an evidently men dominated construction industry. Despite her current position as an executive director at traffic maintenance service provider Cornerstone Barricades in Florida specializing in road construction safety, she admitted to not having any construction background prior to her current career and all of the knowledge pertaining to this field of interest were equipped overtime through constant knowledge acquisition and previous experience with her father. “More doors need to be opened for women in this industry” noted Falade, perfectly explains the apparent gender imbalance. If you’re seeking advice concerning safe traffic infrastructure, metal roofers may be one of her top recommendations.
Bottom Line
Gender equality is not a movement that can easily be achieved overnight especially with numerous existing industries whom our gender counterparts find better privilege from. In such cases, surrendering and conforming are not part of the solution. Ironically how we are already in the 21st century yet the world still can’t find a way to eliminate gender bias aside from all mind blowing technological advancement. Bizarre how we are capable of producing live-changing inventions but not equal opportunities for all. Dear beloved sisters whom I call strong, independent and deserving, always work our ways to the top and never settle for less because that is precisely what the world wishes us women to maintain; do it the other way around instead.
