When it comes to the things that are happening in our culture and in the world we are always thinking about the things that are happening around us especially when it comes to conflicting theories and ideas as well as confrontations and protests of change. This is something that we cannot deny and it has also happened countless times already. Today, we are going to talk about the public’s opinion as well as unorthodox or out-of-normal thoughts as well.
So, what are we talking about today? It is a very complex topic that we will be talking about and this requires a sound mind to talk about it. We are going to discuss the topic of Feminism and Equality. I know, you have already heard a lot about it already and there are a lot of mixed opinions already. Yes, true, but it needs to be addressed and talked about because this is not only about the genders but this is about everything else in between.
What does the Public think of it?
When we talk about Feminism as well as Equality, most of the time we will think about Gender Pay Gap as well as a few more issues we are to talk about. So now we will first take a look at one side first. The public agrees that the Gender Pay Gap exists and this is some statistics to back it up.
According to some statistics, the amount of full-time workers for women is only 82 cents compared to the 1 dollar earned from men on average. This is calculated by experts that have summed based on some of the comparisons and this data is selected from Census Bureau data from 2018. This data of earnings comes from the median annual earnings of full-time women compared to the annual median earnings of full-time men. and this equated to a wage gap of 18 cents. Of course, based on the 18 cents difference alone seems like a very small amount of money. But because this is an annual amount calculated, that means that simple math will land us at an annual difference of quite an amount and of course calculating that by several years you have the result of a whole sum of money differences. Hence, there is a debate and conflict as well as protest for fairer equal pay.
Because, of this Gender Pay Gap, Feminist as well want to give the attitude and behaviour that women are as well liken to men and should not have discrimination about what they wear, man split issues as well as many others with women trying to be at the same level or status as to man. This also includes the issue of male dominance. Explaining it as in history, all things are of male dominance and saying that in the 21st Century as well in various industries in society are also male-dominated. What is actually happening?
When we talk about the Gender Pay Gap, there are a lot of flaws and over-generalisation of data. What does that mean? It means that the results of the comparison are generalised without seeing proper data as well as factoring and other variables at play. So here is what the actual data concludes on.
Gender pay gap exists by taking the amount of all women across all industries and comparing their pay across the board with the amount of all men across all industries. Hence, the results show that women are paid less than men by 18 cents, women getting paid 82 cents on average whilst 1 dollar on average for men. seems correct, but here is the problem.
When we are doing research on something, unless it is possible to generalise a result like saying money is important, we cannot generalise comparisons and not see various factors and draw solid conclusions based on that. The results of the Gender pay gap do not see or compare what types of job there is and are solely based on the total amount of Gender alone. Engineer industries make up only 14.5% of all engineers in comparison to men. Hence at the end of it all, because one industry has more men in them, of course, you will be getting a higher pay number for males compared to females. This is not because males get paid more but because males are more in that particular industry which so happens to have high risk or demand, hence the high pay. If we look at the Nursing Industry in the U.S. alone, we can see a ratio of 9.5 to 1. 9.5 female to 1 male. We all know the nursing industry does not pay as high as engineers or contractors. Because of these variables, we can see that it is not because the gender pay gap exists but it is because of the difference in the industry hence the result of the gap.
This is what we should all think
Females and males are very different beings. There is a difference between male thought processes as well as females in comparison and also the attitude and strengths. Anatomically, they are different and hence there is no comparison. Here is what I think and am a strong believer in this concept. Males are generally cold, more inward nature and have that alpha stance prepared to pounce and defend and fight. Females on the other hand are there to nurture, to fill something with life and warmth as well as defend fiercely for what they believe and who they love. Because of this difference, males and females should instead work to balance and help each other instead of fighting because there are things that males are weak at. We will only talk about the majority and minority here. The majority of males are not able to have a good relationship with their children in comparison to their mothers. This is because most males do not have the patience, guidance, and warmth as females do. Females on the other hand are good at defending and fighting as well as having the warmth, ability to guide, able to nurture. These are things that most women do so well. That is why there are more female nurses than men and in an industry that is more fierce and cold like engineering. This is not something we need to fight about or compare. And in my humble opinion, Females are more protected by men even by the law. This is because we have respect for women and women are amazing. They don’t need to be at the level of males because women are already up the scale and this is my humble opinion. Furthermore, there are very successful women out there that are even more successful than men.MacKenzie Scott, Kamala Harris, Serena Williams as well as Tsai Ing-Wen. These are popular names in the world and they are all women who work hard and reach their goals of success.
You too can be as successful or even more successful than them in the future. Do not doubt yourself in things and just do it! Despite all the things that are happening in this world, do not let them take you down. So what if engineers have more mem, does not mean that females are not in it.
