None of us would be here without the women in our lives. Women bring us into this world and nurture us into adulthood where we then have to fend for ourselves. However, women don’t have much recognition for that. It’s because in this society, even in the 21st century, women still face a great deal of misogyny.
Misogyny is basically hatred towards or prejudices against women and girls. The roots of this issue come from years and years ago where women were only required to stay at home while the men worked. Even though that sounds nice, it isn’t. It was like that because women were seen as weaker than men and not fit to work.
This way of living has been brought over to this century too. Even though there are a lot of women opening up their own businesses and becoming CEOs, there’s still a great deal of misogyny towards them. In the workplace, a woman is still paid less than a man although the workload may be the same. A woman is still doubted in terms of running a business because of the stereotypes people have against women.
We should pause and look back on everything women have done for us. Every time you think about discriminating against a woman, think about how your mother or sister would feel about it. Thus, for all women out there, you deserve a break:
Take A Day Off
If you’re a working woman, no matter whatever work you do, you need a break every once in a while. A day or two for you to just sit back, put your feet up and relax. You deserve it and you’ve surely earned it. Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t or compare you to a man because no one has the right to invalidate how you feel. If you’re drained, if you’re exhausted, take a break. Especially when you’re on your period. Do not ever let a man call you weak because of how you feel during your period. They will never get to understand the pain and overwhelming emotions women go through. So, take a day or two off, just for yourself and do what you want to.
Visit A Spa Or Do It At Home
Since we’re in a pandemic now, it’s not really a good idea to go out to a spa. However, spas have adapted to the regulations and they should have them implemented by now. That doesn’t mean that you can’t make your own spa at home, though. You can easily set up a spa for yourself at home. Set up a bath, maybe use a bath bomb and hey, if you want to relax more, you can check out Delta 8 THC. They’ve got gummies and distillate oils that can help calm your nerves and relieve your stress.
Splurge Every Once In A While
I know that you’d like to save as much money as you can for your future. But that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself every once in a while. Not irresponsibly, just take a reasonable chunk out of your savings and make that the budget that you can use for yourself while still having a good amount of savings.
Allow Yourself to Feel Everything
By everything, I mean allow yourself to not be okay. It’s pretty known that women try their best to control their emotions because of the stereotypes society has. However, it isn’t healthy to bottle it up and pile it onto yourself even more. It won’t end well. You’ll only push yourself to burst a bigger explosion. So, while you take a break or take a day off, even when you simply have some free time, let it out. Let yourself feel the sadness, anger or frustration. Buy some cheap plates and break them. Get a punching bag and let it out on there. Maybe just relax with a playlist of your favourite songs and sort out your thoughts. You have to let yourself feel these emotions after hiding them behind a facade, or else these emotions will haunt you.
To all women out there. You are valid and you earn a break. So blow off some steam and just do what you want every once in a while. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.
