Whatever you are feeling is true and should be addressed. However, you do need to control how the feeling of loneliness affects your life.
Sometimes you need to feel lonely. Loneliness is needed in order for you to grow into someone better. Loneliness can teach you a lot of things. Such as, your love for someone is real, you are only human, your need for human interactions and many more. It is bad only when your loneliness begins to control your life and starts ruining your life. That is the time where you need to start knowing the causes of your loneliness and start to control the feelings back.
Causes of loneliness
Loneliness can happen from various factors. However, only you, yourself is the one who knows the exact cause of your loneliness. Sit back and think while we list some typical causes of loneliness.
One of the major causes of loneliness is no other than yourself. Sometimes, we might tend to overthink and create scenarios that never happen, thus ruining our mental state. This can amplify the loneliness in our heart.
Other than overthinking, we also tend to think negatively. Even though it’s okay to assume the worst because you just want to prepare yourself mentally. However, over assumption can be really bad. It will destroy your mind as you engulf yourself with negative thoughts only.
Other than yourself, the people around you also play a part. The behavior of your family, friends, and partner and how they treat you might affect you. If they always abandon you and make you feel worthless, that might cause loneliness.
If you realise that your loved ones always isolate you, talk bad about you or just simply ignore you, then you will have to leave them. If you cannot then try to tell them that what they are doing hurts you. If not, your loneliness will always be there and you will keep on getting hurt.
Other than yourself and people around you, your surroundings also affect your feelings. If you keep on isolating yourself, spam only sad music and live in a dark room, then that would make your loneliness get worse. Those situations can also make you feel lonely!
Instead, try to surround yourself with bright colours, happy and upbeat music. Go out and watch a movie. Doing things that you love will make you feel better. If you are okay with exercising, then you can do it too since exercising can reduce your sadness.
